Need for Speed: Shift hit online and retail store shelves today and the reviews are in. Out of nowhere the latest installment from a franchise, which has gone downhill a bit in recent years is back and better then ever. Anyone used to old Need for Speed video games is probably expecting another illegal street racing, out run the cops in an arcadish world but as you will see in the video below this installment is more of a simulator then anything else. Since it came out today, I haven’t had a chance to visit a online consumer electronics store and make a purchase but that moment is coming. What I have done is read the reviews and watch a couple videos which are all agreeing this is an amazing facelift to a franchise and company in need of a hit.
From what I have heard there is even a drift portion which was my favorite part in the NFS: Underground video games. This time though the drifting is going to be more realistic. The video above shows off a battle mode, pitting two competing vehicles like the American bread Corvette Z06 and the German refined Porches 911 GT3 RS in an all out battle. For racing video games, this release looks awesome.
