When I started planning a BBQ for this upcoming weekend with friends, what I wasn’t expecting is that my husband would order a new video game for him and the guys to play. Last night I was sitting in the living room talking to my husband about the BBQ and what I was planning for the menu. He was doing something on his laptop, but because he was giving me input on the menu and what kind of foods he wanted to serve, I didn’t think much about him having the laptop in front of him. A few minutes later, he commented that he’d ordered a video game that he’d wanted to try out. I didn’t really give it much thought until he mentioned moving the television and the console out onto the deck so that he and the guys could play the video game on Sunday. I could see that he was excited about the possibilities of playing the new game, but it wasn’t how I’d planned the BBQ to go. I decided not to make a big deal about it. If it makes him and the guys happy to play video games, then so be it. Plus with them playing outside, it keeps them from making a mess in the living room.
